Do you know what the National flower of New Zealand is? Can you find 3 others countrie’s National flowers? Post in the comment of what you find out.

  1. Kia ora Miss McCombie,
I did not know what a Thistle was and, that they were Scotland's national flower.
I really like the dark pink part of the flower as it is very bold and you could probably notice it from far away.
New Zealand's flower is Kowhai, I actually thought it was a Pohutukawa as there are heaps of songs regarding Pohutukawa.
Kowhai is a yellow flower that is almost in a shape of a tube. Kowhai is yellow in Te Reo, so obviously the flower was going to be yellow.
Australia's national flower is a yellow more rounder and fluffy sort of flower which is called Acacia Pycnantha.
England's national flower is a red rose by the name of Tudor. The Tudor rose is on the England's Rugby Union t-shirt.
The French have an Iris, which is blue, purple and yellow. It has the same shape as a bluebell flower.
Out of these my favourite one would be an Iris.
Which flower do you like best?

    1. Hi Zara,
Interesting... I also thought that the NZ flower was the Pohutukawa. Am I right in thinking that it is something to do with Christmas though?
My Mum is from England so I knew the Rose was the English flower. The French flower seems very cute.
I am going to be patriotic and say the Thistle. However, out of your choices, I would say the red rose as red symbolises passion to me and I would say I'm a very passionate person.
      Have a lovely day,
      Miss McCombie
