Ukulele time
Do you play an instrument?
During my schooling in Scotland I played the violin. I received tuition at School and I was part of the Strathbogie Fiddlers. In Scotland we call a violin a fiddle. Unfortunately I haven’t play the violin for around 10 years.
So...
Over the past couple of days I have been learning the four basic ukulele chords, which are: G major, C major, D major, and E minor (Em).
Do you play an instrument? If you do what do you play? If you not, what instrument would you love to learn to play?

Game On!
What’s your game / board game of choice?
Tonight we played Connect 4 (and ofcourse I won!!) Sene and I don’t often play board games.
As a child growing up, I loved playing Chess with my Dad, Charlie. He taught me how to play Chess: teaching me what each piece was, the moves that they can do and some tactical strategies.
What games do you love playing as a family? What can you recommend for people to play?

Improvisation at its finest
What are you doing to keep fit? I have 2 groups of “fitties” helping myself and others get through the isolation period. I have some school colleagues from Belfast and my gym Whanau from Snap Fitness New Brighton.
Keeping fit has HUGE benefits for our mental and emotional health, not to mention our desire to get “the perfect body” (if that even exists!!) as well. From walking the dog, to home workouts, to running 15km - whatever you are doing you are strengthening your mind, body and soul!
I usually go to the gym 3/4 times a week but due to obvious reasons I haven’t been able to. At this point I wished I had some weights but I have had to improvise.
Check this out...
The more we care, look after and nurture our bodies the more positive benefits we will get.
What have you been doing to keep fit? What advice would you give to someone who is struggle with motivation?

Breakfast - so important!
Why is it so important?
The first meal of the day should be breakfast before you start your busy day. It is important to get nutrients into your body to fuel your brain with energy to enable you to learn. I often find that when I don’t have breakfast I feel tired, sluggish and at times hangry!
Each morning I have eggs! What do you have for breakfast each morning? What is your favourite breakfast?
Nala, the Rottweiler
Talofa lava,
My name is Nala. I’m a pure bred Rottweiler. My father is Native and my mother is Tui. I was born on the 22nd of January 2019 which makes me 1 year and 2 months old. I came from Cheviot, North Canterbury however I now live in Christchurch.
Do you have any pets? I would love to hear about them! Even post a picture of them if you can.

Homemade Chicken Satay
I LOVE cooking from scratch. Tonight I made chicken satay.
—Satay Sauce: 1/2 can of coconut milk, 3 tbsp peanut butter, sprinkle of chilli flakes
—Chicken: 2 thighs
—Veg: spring onion, bean sprouts, coriander
Cook off thigh cubes first, add sauce ingredients in the pan, add any veg you want!
—Add rice/noodles etc!
Have you got any recipes that you really love? This recipe is quick and easy and can be make in 10 mins.
Walking Nala
Our morning began by taking a Run/Walk with Nala through some on the Red Zone which is right next to where we live! It felt strange because I said, “Hi!” to 3 people and only 1 replied... (but that could have been because they were gobsmacked at my tomato red face from running!!!!)
It’s bursting with fruits at the moment - can you guess which fruit is on this tree?
What is your favourite fruit? What is the country of origin of your favourite fruit?

Fish & Chips!
We decided to get Fish & Chips for dinner tonight. It’s our favourite takeaway in the area so we treated ourselves to something tasty.
If you could choose one tasty ‘Takeaway’ to have right now what would it be and why?
Kia ora!
So I’ve been thinking a lot recently about our isolation period and I want to set myself some goals.
I have purchased a FitBit Versa 2 with my birthday money and want to achieve 10,000 steps a day during this time. Do you think I can do it?
Goals help you focus of something and to me my health is the most important thing at the moment. I plan to walk Nala once a day and obviously keep the ‘social distancing’ rule of 2m if I come across someone on the walk. We are lucky to live beside the ‘Red Zone’ in Christchurch. Sene and I will both be working from home so this goal will definitely help us to get fresh air.
What are your goals for the near future? Who will help you with your goals?
