Game On!

What’s your game / board game of choice?
Tonight we played Connect 4 (and ofcourse I won!!) Sene and I don’t often play board games.
As a child growing up, I loved playing Chess with my Dad, Charlie. He taught me how to play Chess: teaching me what each piece was, the moves that they can do and some tactical strategies.
What games do you love playing as a family? What can you recommend for people to play?

  2. Miss M you are so competitive! I used to love playing Scattergories and Monopoly-monopoly usually ended in tears however. I also love card games. What other games do you have at home to play? Maybe you could let Sene win one?

    1. Kia ora Mrs J,
I know, sometimes my competetiveness gets the better of me and I need to remember it's just a fun game.
We have chess, drafts and Pétanque.
Sene usually beats me at everything (except Tennis) so I like the glory when I win!!
      Thanks,
      Miss M

  4. Kia ora Miss M,

Connect 4 is a great game! We have it too. How lovely of your dad to teach you how to play chess. It is a hard game but I know that people who play it really enjoy the thinking that happens with it. My favourite game as a child was Cluedo (or Clue as they say in America). Now my family play Monopoly Deal because it is fast and you can 'Just Say No' to people.

    Thanks for sharing,

Thank you for your comment. I know, those are definitely special memories when you look back on your childhood.
Have you been playing Monopoly Deal with your family during Lockdown?
      Thanks,
      Miss M

  5. Kia ora,
You definitely have the intelligence and the competitiveness to win a game like Connect 4.
When I was younger, we used to play Snakes And Ladders, Snap, The Memory Game and Go Fish.
I loved playing these games as I was pretty good at them especially the Memory Game as I have an excellent memory.
No we play Monopoly Deal, Banana Grams, Speed and 3 Of 1 And 4 Of The Other.
It is so great how there are so many games for people that are all ages.
    Happy playing,
    Zara
