500! What does it mean? Walking along the river again tonight, I came across a large wooden post in the ground with the number 500 on it. What do you think it’s for?

    I think it could be for rowing, canoeing, or for skis so that they either know how many metres they have done or a marker to say that they are near a certain place.
    Have you seen it before, or is it new, because that could make the difference to estimate what it is used for?
